Tiffany by Merlinstouch Tiffany by Merlinstouch
This is a type of daisy. Its real color is purple. No I didn't flip this upside down. this is how I found it in the am after an evening of rain. Shot with 100mm Macro and the ring light.

I printed this 30x40 Today. WOW.

The title absolutely makes it for me. The shot is gorgeous, of course: crisp focus, perfect contrast. But the first thing I thought of when I saw it was a Tiffany lamp, so you get a :+fav: for being an amazing artist AND a mind-reader. :P

Ah, saw my typo after I posted but very cool. What is your enlargement method and sharpening method? Curious :-)

I use nik for my sharpening and usually when I go real large, I try to step it up in baby steps. I have a photo shot with the 50d that is covering the whole hood of my car and cropped on the long side. . it's 50" wide.

Hmm, interesting about enlarging in steps. Would that mean enlarge, sharpen, repeat? I've become a fan of the high pass sharpen method but havent dialed in my large print settings yet.

No only sharpen once you are ready to print. Sharpening should usually be the very last thing you do

Hmm, ok so I had that right, so when uprez in steps then?

Curious enough I downrez (for web) using an action that does it in steps so would make sense for the uprez. Do you use a certain ratio to do it? Curious indeed

I usually step up in 5-10% increments. There are some other ways to do it and depending on your software there are tricks.
Here is one way to do it. [link] Just do a search and find the one that works for you. Biggest thing you have to concern yourself is noise. If there is noise in the original it will amplify as you invrease the size
